Montevideo Skyscraper, Rotterdam

The name 'Montevideo' in the 'Kop van Zuid' district of Rotterdam is reference to the past, when the 'Wilhelmina Pier' was still home to lots of warehouses, one of which was named for the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo. The building was designed by Francine Houben from the Mecanoo architecture firm, who were awarded two prizes for Montevideo in 2006: The International Highrise Award and Dedallo Minosse. The 43-storey skyscraper with its own sauna and swimming pool was designed for living and working in. DP-Pumps supplied six Hydro-Unit booster systems for the entire building's water supply.
